In mathematics, integers are one important topic in number representation. For a set of numbers have nonnegative integers and negative integers. No fractional part is present in integers. Expression is defined as the process of finite combinations of variables, constants and arithmetic operations. Expression with integers can perform different types of arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Let us solve some example problems for expressions with integers.
I like to share this Examples of Algebraic Expressions with you all through my article.
Example problems for expressions with integers:
Some example problems for expressions with integers are,
Example 1:
Perform arithmetic operation addition for the given two expressions with integers
(2x – 5) + (3x +8)
Solution:
Given two expressions with integers are
(2x – 5) + (3x +8)
Here we add the given two expression (2x – 5) and (3x + 8), and then we get the result
(2x – 5) + (3x +8)
Remove parentheses in the given expressions
2x – 5 + 3x + 8 [Add combine like term]
5x + 3
Solution to the given two expression integers is 5x + 3.
Example 2:
Perform arithmetic operation subtraction for the given two expressions with integers
(8x + 6) - (2x + 7)
Solution:
Given two expressions with integers are
(8x + 6) - (2x + 7)
Here we subtract the given two expression (8x + 6) and (2x + 7), and then we get the result
(8x + 6) - (2x + 7)
Remove parentheses in the given expressions
8x + 6 – 2x – 7 [Subtract like term]
6x – 1
Solution to the given two expression integers is 6x – 1.
Example 3:
Perform arithmetic operation multiplication for the given two expressions with integers
(x + 8) × (4x + 5)
Solution:
Given two expressions with integers are
(x + 8) × (4x + 5)
Here we multiply the given two expression (x + 8) and (4x + 5), and then we get the result
(x + 8) × (4x + 5)
Given first expression can be multiplied with the second expression
[(x + 8) × 4x] + [(x + 8) × 5]
4x2 + 32x + 5x + 40
Add like terms
4x2 + 37x + 40
Solution to the given two expression integers is 4x2 + 37x + 40.
Example 4:
Perform arithmetic operation multiplication for the given two expressions with integers
8x / 4x
Solution:
Given two expressions with integers are
8x / 4x
Here we divide the given two expressions 8x and 4x, and then we get the result
8x / 4x
2
Solution to the given two expression integers is 2.
