Decimal number is a number. It must divide in to two parts. It’s called whole number part and a fractional part. The dot (.) is indication of the decimal point. For example: 721.453.
Here the 7 represent 700.
2 represent 20.
1 represents 1 unit.
1 represent tenth place.
5 represent hundredths Place.
Second 3 represent thousandths place.
Addition with a decimal point:

Its commonly used to find the sum of two numbers. Addition of decimals is fully based on adding whole numbers. But here we need to place the decimal values.
